Highlight of the Week!
June 13th
This is Girma. He is a graduate of our first Ambo cohort and now a co-teacher of the second cohort. Girma is also a faithful gospel minister in his church and a friend.
During lunch on Tuesday it was discovered in passing conversation that Girma has been teaching our non-formal curriculum to a group of pastors and teachers in his denomination.
For four months straight every Sunday, for an hour and a half after Sunday worship and an hour and a half in the evenings he has walked a group of forty leaders through our nine courses. Twenty-nine of the original forty completed all nine courses. Here you can see the picture from their graduation ceremony.
It is quite like Girma to have done this completely under anyone’s radar, not doing it for recognition or praise but simply to invest in leaders within his denomination. These graduates showed their appreciation for Girma by buying him a watch as a gift.
TLI’s vision is not only to train gospel ministers but to train future trainers. Girma has set an amazing example for others to follow!
